   Make sure that the island you choose to inhabit is one that appeals to your sense of aesthetics.

You have the option to restart the game before the tutorial missions are finished (at the end of the first day) and select a new island to play on if you decide that you do not like the look of the layout of the island after you have done some exploring.

- As a final piece of advice, keep in mind that once you have decided on a name for your island, you will not be able to alter it in any way

- And island will not be added to the name automatically; therefore, if you want it included, you will need to add it on your own

- It is important to keep in mind at this point that your tent will eventually become your house and garden, and that you will need to ensure that you will have plenty of room to expand in order to accommodate these changes

- And then, further down the road, the question of where to put the museum, the Nook's Cranny shop, and the visitor center

- Therefore, when setting up each plot, you should try to visualize how it will appear when it is larger than a tent

After you have repaid the initial loan, you will be required to repay a second loan that is significantly larger in order to purchase your first home. After that, the amounts that you will be required to pay will continue to increase as you move up the property ladder. In addition, the repayment for these later loans will have to be made in Bells rather than Nook Miles.

4. The museum will not pay you for your blathers, but they will look fantastic when they are displayed there. Wood (of which there are three types), sticks, stones, iron nuggets, clay, and other resources found around the island might not be required for the handful of do-it-yourself recipes you start with, but some of them could become essential at a later point in time.

One specific piece of advice: do not engage in the sale of clay or iron nuggets. They are difficult to obtain and are required in large quantities just a few days in advance. Take good care of the inventory in your pockets.

When you first begin playing New Horizons, you won't have access to very many tools, which means that the number of inventory slots in your pockets will be more than sufficient.

You are in luck because any items that you drop on your own island will remain there indefinitely, making it possible for you to retrieve them at a later time or even on a different day.

6. Keep an eye out for unexpected visitors and be on the alert for delivery of gifts.

In addition to Nook, his nephews, and a couple of other settlers, you may also run into some guests who will provide you with straightforward fetch quests. There are times when they also have items for you.

Flying packages arrive significantly more frequently, often multiple times in the same day. To deflate the balloon and send the package hurtling toward the ground below, you will need a slingshot.

A word of caution: do not pop the balloon while it is floating over water. However, you will be rewarded with Nook Miles despite the fact that your package will drown. On the other hand, you might find better luck searching for items on islands that were generated at random.

In addition, you should ensure that you pick plenty of fruit from the trees there, as those fruits are likely to be different from the ones that were initially made available to you.

It is important to keep in mind that you will never be able to visit the same island twice, so it is imperative that you do not abandon anything of significance on the island. For instance, on each island, a different kind of fruit might be dangling from the trees. This would allow you to take some of the fruit from another island, plant it on your own, and create a new variety (for an example, see below).

You can use the fruit you collect from other islands to help you grow specific trees on your own, which is one of the reasons why you should try to collect as much fruit as you can while exploring other islands. The only thing that needs to be done is to dig a hole, plant one of the varieties of fruit that you've collected, and approximately three days later you'll see a new, fully grown tree that is bearing the same fruit that you brought back with you.

If you want to have more of those new trees strewn about the island, you can always gather from those new trees and plant the fruit elsewhere on the island if you want to do that.

10. Be wary of insects such as spiders and wasps.

One last piece of advice for the time being is that not everything on your island is adorable and welcoming.

When you come across a spider, the most important piece of advice that we can give you is to make sure that you have a net on hand.
